Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.
Officers say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.
The substance had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Law enforcement then located many other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police report early analysis indicate the substance was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; investigators are presently not aware of any injuries in connection with the incident," they stated.
Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the residents for details.
A high-ranking political figure said the attack rendered him stunned and required to be resolved quickly.
"This event strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing violent incident in 2020," he stated on social media, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
